A Guide on Finding The Best Mining Routes

Mining is a great profession to have and in this mining guide I wanted to highlight one of the great addons which is available for miners. What it does is create a route for you to follow so that you cover all the ore spawns in a set area - then all you have to do is follow a line and not wander around aimlessly. As you get used to it you will get even more optimized routes and it can be a great way to make gold at any level.

To start off with you will need to download the addons "Routes" and "Cartographer" which are both available on the curse.com addons site. What Cartographer is is a world map replacement which adds certain features and allows you to change certain settings. The feature we are most interested in in this mining guide is the ability to track nodes.

Nodes are what you mine your ore out of and Cartographer has a data file you can download (called "Cartographer_Data") allowing you to have all the available nodes already discovered on your map meaning you are not only limited to the ones you have used before.

Once you have installed Routes and Cartographer you will need to open the cartographer options menu which will have a new tab for the Routes add on which you can then use to easily set-up a mining guide for you to follow. When you first make a route it will be extremely inefficient as it will quite literally just go from node to node, so I recommend you look into the optimization options available within the add on itself which should provide you with a much better final route.

Now you have your route it ought to appear as a line on the mini-map so all you need to do is follow it mining as you go. This will allow you to collect a lot more ore in the same amount of time and hopefully make a bit more gold. This wow mining guide could clearly only scratch the surface of making good amounts of gold from mining but hopefully it still provided some value.

Most of playing World of Warcraft revolves around gold, without it everything is much harder and less enjoyable - sometimes even impossible.
